Today’s verse is Romans 8:31, which is probably familiar to many of us. Written by the apostle Paul, its words have given comfort and strength to untold numbers of people through the centuries. “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Now that I have two little ones, I find myself seeing this verse through different eyes… parental eyes. As a parent, we watch over our children carefully and lovingly. We do our best to protect them from harm.
When you don’t know what to do or where to go, trust in the Lord to guide you. He knows what is best for us and will lead, if we ask Him to. Perhaps you are waiting on the Lord to work in our life right now. During the waiting time, we may struggle with a wide range of high and low feelings, such as confidence in the Lord and discouragement when He seems to be quiet. So what do we do? Do we give up? Give in? God forbid!
It is not fair. Cancer is never fair. If you are struggling with a devastating diagnosis, of yourself or a loved one, I know what it is like to cry your heart out to the Lord and feel that He is not answering or, even worse, His answer is “No, my precious one.” We cannot see with the eyes of God.
