Wow, I cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by. First, I would like to say thank you for joining me and A Heavenly Home on this journey. 2019 has been a year of community and I am so glad you have been a part of that.

Let’s take a little look back at 2019.

We started the year a little slow and recovering from the first holiday season without my mom. However, a wonderful visit in December from my aunt (and her Christmas day wedding at our house!) helped inspire me to start a new series on hospitality!

We had a number of firsts this year including our second son’s first birthday and both boys’ first snow. We also tried harder to get outdoors and spend more time in nature.

April was a big month for me and the blog. I wrote about cleaning tips for busy families from personal experiences and started a new series on family worship!A

A special blessing

In June we welcomed our surprise blessing and third son, Pumpkin, into the world, into our family, and into our hearts. He is such a happy baby, and has brought joy and laughter back into our home.

Though he is our third baby, we had our first breastfeeding success.

One of my favorite posts of the year… 6 Tips for a tidy house with toddlers. As a working mom with small kids, I know firsthand how hard it is to keep a clean and tidy home!

I worked hard this year on consistently sharing an inspiring and meaningful devotional each Thursday with the His Encouragement series. I also worked behind-the-scenes on fine tuning the blog, improving SEO, and being more active on social media.

Looking back at 2019, we enjoyed a relaxing Sabbath afternoon at the local riparian park.

In recent weeks, as the holidays ramped up and the year wound down, we shared some themed posts. The boys helped me with 5 Children’s books about thankfulness and I enjoyed the research part of Best dairy-free vegan hot cocoa for the holidays.

If I had to pick a word or phrase that encompassed our journey in 2019, I would have to say recovery or new beginnings. There were some lows as we lost three more loved ones. There were also some highs as we welcomed a new baby and saw other blessings come to be.

We are eagerly looking forward to changes in 2020… both in our family life and also on the blog!

From our family to yours, may you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
